Restart School Model
Restart is one of four Reform models available to LEAs to support designated Recurring Low Performing schools. It allows district public schools to act with charter-like flexibilities in how they may plan for employment, budget, curriculum, calendar, or other uses of their allotted funding. The reform model empowers the school district to make the necessary adjustments to positively impact leadership, effective teaching and learning, school culture, parent and community involvement, and ultimately, student achievement. A Restart school remains under the control of the local board of education and has a goal of reforming the school including by meeting or exceeding the growth measure by subgroup.
