Weldon Robotics

Congratulations to Weldon City Schools for receiving a $71,302.54 grant to begin an after-school Robotics program for students in grades four through twelve.

A robotics club is like a playground for young engineers and tech enthusiasts, where they can design, build, and program robots while having fun with like-minded people. It’s the perfect place to let imagination run wild and build cool machines that can perform different tasks or compete against other teams.

Developing skills in engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork can prepare children for future careers in STEM fields. Kids can learn to build various robots, such as robots that follow a line, avoid obstacles, robot arms, and drones. They can also program their robots to transport objects, navigate mazes, or play games.

A survey by the National Science Foundation found that the number of robotics programs is steadily increasing as more schools recognize the importance of robotics education in preparing students for future careers in STEM fields.

Benefits of joining a robotics club
1. Develop technical skills:
Provides a structured environment to develop technical skills in designing, building, and programming robots.
2. Encourage teamwork and collaboration:
Require kids to work in teams to develop communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
3. Learn from experts in the field:
These clubs allow kids to interact with industry experts and gain insight into the latest advances in robotics technology.
4. Have fun exploring technology:
Learn new skills while playing with robots and experimenting with new ideas.
5. Develop problem-solving skills:
By presenting them with complex challenges that require creative thinking and ingenuity. This may include designing robots to navigate mazes, perform specific tasks, or complete difficult missions.
